Honorary Membership

The Rotary Club of Beaumaris may grant honorary membership to ex members or other members of the community in cases where the individual has given exemplary service to the club or to the Beaumaris community.

Nominations for honorary membership may be submitted to the Secretary at any time with the justification for the honour. All nominations will be considered by the club board, who in principle will only grant honorary membership to an individual who has demonstrated a high degree of commitment to the principles of Rotary and outstanding service to the Rotary Club or the Beaumaris community.

Membership will be granted for periods of one Rotary year, i.e. from 1 July to 30 June. All current honorary memberships will be reviewed by the Board based on a report & recommendation by the Membership Director in July each year and where appropriate membership will be renewed for a further twelve months

Honorary members will receive electronic copies of the weekly In Gear newsletter. There is no membership fee and no voting rights. Honorary members cannot be nominated for the club board. They may attend club meetings and events, subject to the normal advance notice for catering purposes and will pay the member cost of such meetings and events.

This policy was approved by the club board on 13 October 2008.

Membership

Membership of Rotary is by invitation. The Rotary Club of Beaumaris is always interested in talking to people with similar interests to ours, making new friends, enjoying a stimulating social life and contributing both to our local community and also to the worldwide community. If you are interested and would like to talk to us please join us at a weekly meeting.

For more information contact John Beaty by email or phone 0400 988 208

We welcome members of the community who share our ideals and goals for a better world to join the Rotary Club of Beaumaris. As a Rotarian you will get a chance to become more involved in your community and to provide aid to other parts of the world through the opportunities that our Rotary club and Rotary International offer.. Long time Rotarians agree that involvement is key to getting the most out of membership. Volunteer to serve on a committee that meets your interests, or to join a service project team. These activities will help you get to know your fellow club members and better understand the work and opportunities of Rotary.
